Dead at 74 Was a Former Red Sox All-Star Pitcher

An ex-passing player's brought sad news to the Major League Baseball world on Friday afternoon.

After a battle with cancer, ill Campbell, who pitched for the MLB for 15 seasons, passed away this week. Age-wise, he was 74.

"Bill Campbell, a member of the 1977 Red Sox and an All-Star during his 15-year MLB career, passed away today. He was 74, "Pete Abraham, a Boston Globe reporter, stated on Twitter.

Campbell spent his first four seasons in the Major League Baseball with the Minnesota Twins.

 He eventually signed with the Boston Red Sox, where he enjoyed his best MLB season.

During the 1977 season, he was an All-Star and placed fifth in the Cy Young voting.

Campbell later played for the Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals.
